About the event
Pigments from Petals - Botanical Art Making
Discover the art of flower pounding, creating natural pigments with native plants and flowers. Students will learn how to express natural dye compounds found in the petals and stems of flowering plants and vines and imprint them onto cotton muslin squares for an organically "dyed" piece of art that will last long after winter comes. Some beginner's knowledge of plant based dyes and mordants will also be discussed.
