Savory Lavender Herb Popcorn
An unexpected use of lavender and other fresh herbs from the garden

The first time we hosted a garden cocktail class, we knew we had to incorporate some snacks into the mix. We featured lavender in one of our drink recipes, and came up with this savory lavender herb popcorn recipe as a contrast to the sweet cocktail. It was a winner, for sure.
Tip: Make more of the infused butter than you need and pour extra into ice cube trays to freeze for later.
Savory Lavender Herb Popcorn
Ingredients
Take a walk through your herb garden, or visit your local farmer's market and gather an assortment of fresh herbs. These are suggestions, but feel free to experiment with herbs you love. If they smell good together, chances are they'll taste good together.
Herb Suggestions:
lavender
rosemary
sage
basil
parsley
thyme
oregano
Recipe Ingredients:
½ cup (1 stick) butter, salted or unsalted
½ cup lavender buds and assorted fresh herbs, finely chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
6 cups popped corn
salt to taste
Directions
Melt butter in small saucepan over medium-low heat.
Add chopped herbs and garlic to the melted butter, stir and gently simmer for approximately 5 minutes.
Remove from heat and let the mixture infuse for at least an hour.
You can strain the herbs from the infused butter, but it is not necessary.
Gently re-heat the butter if it has solidified.
Toss the popped corn with the infused butter. Add salt to taste
Serve immediately.
